Water Conservation

Sanmitra Foundation successfully implemented a water conservation initiative at the open plots within the Yerwada Open Prison campus. Through this project, the organization invested approximately ₹1.5 lakh to develop water storage and irrigation facilities

As part of the rehabilitation program, 17 inmates from the open prison actively participated in the project and worked alongside volunteers. Their involvement in constructive environmental work has helped bring positive behavioral changes and a noticeable reduction in disciplinary issues over the past few months.

Previously, the prison administration faced a serious water shortage, requiring nearly 40 water tankers every month. However, after the implementation of this water conservation system, the dependency on tankers has significantly reduced and water tanker supply has been discontinued since 2019.

School Supplies Distribution – Providing essential study materials such as notebooks, textbooks, school bags, and stationery to children from underprivileged families.
Free Learning Workshops – Organizing workshops and educational sessions to improve students’ knowledge, creativity, and confidence.
Digital Learning Support – Helping students access modern education through computers, online learning resources, and digital study tools.
Career Guidance Programs – Guiding students about higher education opportunities, career paths, and skill development for a brighter future.

Community Cleaning Drives – Organizing regular cleanliness drives in public places, streets, and community areas with the help of volunteers.
Waste Management Awareness – Educating people about proper waste segregation and responsible disposal to protect the environment.
Plastic Reduction Initiative – Promoting the use of eco-friendly alternatives and reducing single-use plastic in daily life.
Public Hygiene Awareness – Encouraging citizens to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and adopt better hygiene practices.
